How Far Can We Push Bend Insensitive Fiber
In general bend insensitive fiber has allowed a much broader manufacturing envelope to be used but the question to be answered is, are we coming closer to a failure edge than we recognize? This webinar investigates the benefits and pitfalls of the bend insensitive optical fiber. How this will change our concept of handling the fiber and how to design the cables that contain the fiber, termination practices, and overall installation changes is explored. Additionally, how all the benefits have been taken advantage of by the various stages in cable design installation and termination and where they may or may not cause a problem are discussed.

Cable and Connectivity: Overview of the Physical Layer
Optical fiber and cable are the key building blocks of the passive plant. Proper construction of the physical layer provides a good foundation for the information highway. This webinar discusses cable standards and specifications, the importance of qualifying the right cable for the environment and how to take advantage of the latest “easy-to-use” connectors and splice products. With product advances in new equipment for installing cable, understanding their performance factors and how to troubleshoot has become critical.
